New wheels

[Danish Yaris]

Hi

I know it has been discussed a lot, but I have found some new wheels I really like, but don´t know if they will rub when I have Tanabe DF210 on my car.
The wheels are 7,5x17" ET40 and I´m planning to mount 205/40-17 on them.

My stock wheels is 185/60-15, but I don´t know the ET on the stock wheels.
I hope someone can help me so I can get them ordered if they fit the car.

essentially your outboard clearance is 9.35MM less than is suggested by the experts on yw however, your inboard clearance is only 3.35mm less.

on a 205/40/17 you should be just fine, as the 40series tire is somewhat smaller than stock (overall height)

nice looking wheel by the way :)

oh and, you should spring for some camber bolts, to help with any inboard rubbing you may experience

Yes, I think it would look good on a dropped Toyota Yaris. If anyone have the time and skills to photoshop it on a Toyota Yaris I will appreciate it.

So you are saying it wouldn´t rub even if when I´m on DF210´s. I haven´t got them yet, so I can´t measure the height etc. before they are installed on the car.
Is the height of a 205/40-17 and 185/60-15 tire the same?

yep, love the deep lip, but I just can't picture them as 17's. The flanged ends of the spokes at the lip just make me think it shouldn't go over 15". But still a very good looking wheel

I can get them in 15" and 16" too, but I don´t know if it would be nice with such a high profile tire and the big drop?

i'd say 17s if you dont care about a bumpy ride. looks like you are going for looks and not performance anyway. most people on this site will tell you get 16s of 15s. watchout!

I don't you'd have to worry about the drop, it would look killer either way. Peter's right about the smaller rims

Hi

I like a car that´s having a hard suspension and I´m going for the looks, but also some performance. What are these doing for the performance?
My Toyota Yaris is the European 1,3 with 87hp., so not much fun in that engine either way.

It will have a harder ride in some situations and being a larger wheel, your MPG's will decrease slightly. But if that's not a huge issue, I say go for it

I like it better when the suspension is hard than soft, I think it´s better on the road then. I know MPG would be a little less, but it´s nothing about my former car, an Alfa Romeo 147 2,0 with 18". I had 16" on my former Toyota Yaris from 1999 with a 1,0 68hp. engine.

the 205 40 17 is shorter

tire math:

width (205) * aspect ratio (40) * 2 (top and bottom) / 25.4 (converts to inches) + 17 (wheel diameter)

23.456" diameter

185/60/15

23.74" diameter

so you have an extra 1/8" clearance top and bottom.

17x7.5, ET40, 205/40/17 on DF's. I believe you may have some rubbing issues with this fitment, though not serious.

Thanks for posting the pictures, I even have checked the TRC website for bodykits and didn´t notice the rims.
I think they are looking great on the Toyota Yaris.
