A quick solo trip up the mountains

Today was my day-off so I decided to see what the hub-bub was about a hyped-up local road. I have to say it really was a good run. A nice balance of straight-aways and technical corners IMO. At end of the road was nothing but beautiful scenery and a crystal clear river which was clean enough to drink out of (And yes, I did. You don't find something like this down in the city so it was worth trying. If I get sick later I'll let you know, but I doubt it). Anyways, enjoy!

The finish line:

Last stretch of GMR:

A little further up the Fork crossing over San Gabriel River:

And just for the hell of it, a few pics and vids of the river too:

I was gonna but the torrents were pretty strong. I didn't want the saying "Up Shit Creek without a paddle" to become an actual event lol

I'm sure there are some narrow twisty back roads close-by to test your suspension on. Just gotta keep looking

I respect your courage, but would never drink out of the river in southern california. You could have gotten deadly desease from that water. Let alone that there is nothing clean left in the area where chemicals are used for irigation and san gabriel mountains are down from the dirty palmdale... Your choice of course, but based on what I know about the ground water and mountain rivers and springs, it's far from safe to drink.

Nice wheels by the way.

The mountains are high up from Palmdale, which means water would flow down into Palmdale (and not the other way). Any water that flows into there would come from the melting snow-caps, which are crystal clear. They wouldn't be dirty til they got down there. I haven't had any problems since I took a sip from the mountain stream from that day. If anything, I can't remember the last time I tasted water that refreshing. Better than bottled-water matter of fact.

And thanks. I really do like the wheels.
