AEM/Injen CAI with Auto trans, pls comments...

Hi all bros, anyone with the above set up please kindly comments if the set up affect the performance of the acceleration & response?

Currently i am on stock air box with K&N drop in with custom CAI piping from foglamp area.

I am afraid with the Aem or Injen CAI system will hurt the acceleration response due to my auto tranny. Don't wish to lose out for my low-end...

P.S. I did search for the above, but still no luck finding the answer i need.

I had the AEM in my car (5spd) & felt an instant difference. Where did you get the idea that a CAI will hurt low-end cause of you auto tranny?

I found the infomation on my local Toyota "Vios" forum. Alot comments that the using a "open pod" filter set-up gonna hurt the low end acceleration. I am not sure how much does it hurt therefore i am asking for more information here.

From my understand, driver who drive stick gear can control the half clutch motion with the engine therefore the low-end doesn't hurt much. Due to many engine mod lovers, open pod filter usually give & open up the high end...

Pls don't frame me, this is what i heard from others.

Most dynos of cai's i have seen usually have a very slight loss of hp at the very low end of the range. Usually that translates into a 1 or 2 hp loss at the bottom of the rev range that you simply will not be able to feel.

If you are worried about any low end losses at all, just do the research on the product before you buy it. Maybe you can find a product that is focused on more power for the lower end, but that product won't be able to do as well at the top end.

Most of that stuff is designed to open up the top end of the rev range, that is where real power is made on most cars.
