The big 1-oh-oh-oh

Yes, today I finally turned over 1,000 miles on my Yaris (no official name yet, but for some reason I lean towards calling it "Super Mario". I have no idea why.) It's been 6.5 weeks now, so it's obvious I'm not laying the miles on too heavily. At this rate, I should be trading it in when it hits 200,000 miles in oh, maybe about 25 years! Actually, it should just be getting broken in about that time.

Thanks, Toyota, for a great little car. Here's hoping that more people catch Yaris fever.

Go with the "Super Mario" name.

At a local shopping center, I keep seeing a blazing blue liftback with a large `Super Man' chest patch on the hood.
It always makes me take a second look.

Super Mario is a great idea -- glad you are enjoying your Yaris, I love mine!

The title reminded me of the Count from Sesame Street "1-ohohoh, 2-ohohoh..."

but may it live long and prosper!

Congratulations! I hope you bought a cake and blew a candle or something! No doubt it must be pretty exciting to turn 1000.

My Tomato is running strong a 56.5K miles. I'm thinking of getting her window tint because it does get pretty hot out here.

Dang it! Totally didn't think about that. Oh well, I can always do what Ferris Bueller suggested--put it up on blocks and run it in reverse for a while. It'll be back to 1,000 in no time!

Super Mario it is, then! Maybe later I'll get a license plate for the front bumper with Mario's face on it. Then you'll all know it's me if we ever pass on the road.

By the way, I've seen a crapload of Yarii in my town lately--but I'm the only one of 'em on the YW forum to my knowledge. Where are you, fellow south Bama Yarii drivers?
