Timing Chain

I have the Hatchback Yaris 2007. I believe I read it has a timing chain and not a belt is this true? I do not have the manual bought car used.
I have 81,000 miles and have never been to dealer as I do my own maintenance.

never unless the car is abused. Maybe a tensioner or rail but the chain should be good.

if you're having running problems you can check the tension and slack in the chain by removing the cover, setting to TDC and marking the pulley. move engine backwards and see how far the pulley moves until the cam moves. any more than about 6-8* and i'd have a problem with it.

but then again, it depends on how bad car's running, cost of chain, and how long it's gonna take me to change it.
