Scratches on engine after installing belt
I've installed a belt on a 2015 Yaris and have some superficial scratches from prying. I've installed and removed this belt and tensioned it when the car was bought 5 years ago. It still didn't look too bad but I had a Bando ones I ordered a few years ago but didn't install, till today.
I have some scratches on the block and head, some under that coolant plug with the Allen head. Don't know it's name, but I was a little worried since it looks thin. Not really visible on camera. I didn't pry hard enough to break anything. But finally figured out the right spot after not doing it for years. |

That should be just fine that allen head is a filter for the VVTI solenoid. You should not have a single problem there is way more than enough metal there you arent gonna hurt a thing with some small scratches like that.

I used to have an older Yaris with the same setup minus the AC compressor. This one was giving me a harder time with moving the alternator. The place I worried about was where that hollow tube is. Right under I had some scratches but not too bad
My main concern was that if there were any micro cracking that could get worse |
