Power window failure

Anybody encounter a power window problem on their Yaris yet?

My passenger side power window is dead on my 2008 3-door. Neither switch works, no power at all getting to the passenger side window, driver side works fine so prob not a fuse(?) Comp warranty still in effect for another 2 months.

I wanted crank windows but if I wanted the side curtain airbags I had to get the power package (in '08 safety was optional). The 60/40 split FOLD FLAT rear seat was also highly desired. I miss (so much) the days you could custom order options.

my passenger side's been dead for about 2 years now

Tried to troubleshoot it myself, seems to be the motor, as there is voltage going into it. Rarely ever need to use it so I never really bothered to get it fixed...

I might start "excercising" my pass side wind once a day.
Seems P/W motors drag and get real slow when you never use 'em...

Unhappy I Just Got to Join This Club, Too

Was changing out my wheels to get into winter mode... and yep, I'm in the same boat...

Switch feels the same, just don't hear anything over at the passenger door (vs. being able to hear the power window motor if, say the window was frozen shut). I think the last time I used it was maybe a week or two ago. And they both get used about equally as I'm always popping them open to use the vent visors while parked in the summer.

Where's the first place to look to figure out if I can fix it?

Might sound archaic, but try slamming close hard the door with the "dead" motor. Other than that, you can take the door panel off, and test for power at the motor with a test light.

Someone at Nissan was listening. One can get the 2014 Versa Note with hand crank windows and a 60/40 seat. Are you listening Toyota?

I had a recall fixed at the dealership a few months ago involving the power windows/locks. If I remember right, people(or a person) tried to fix it themselves and the area caught on fire(or started smoking) so yeah, hit up the dealership.
