Scion xD vs. Honda Fit
Hi,
I'm the owner of a 2010 Yaris 3-door, and I'm helping my girlfriend pick out a car. What she's looking for is a small base model hatchback, a little bigger than the yaris. Preferably something super-reliable, good on gas, not too big, but making efficient use of its size. She's thinking a manual transmission. Today we looked at toyotas and hondas. The matrix was too big, so I think we're between the xD and Fit. The dealers will give us both at invoice, which comes to $14,500 + recent college grad for scion, or $15,500 for honda. I was curious if anybody has some insight as to which car might be better, or if there are any hidden drawbacks to either. Thanks so much in advance! Dave |

Start another Oil Thread!

the xD is more powerful, has a nicer interior, better stereo, more room, and doesn't look like a broken shoe (it looks like a rhino instead lol)
xD all the way.

xD for sure.
Unless maximum storage space is a priority, the xD wins in most other categories. |

I've got an 2010 xB, and it's awesome! We almost got the xD, but we wanted more storage room since it was our mommy mobile. Completly recommend the xD

looks like the Scion will be less expensive, plus it is a Toyota.
I have read that scion insurance prices can be on the high side though, so you should check that out. I would personally never buy a honda, so I'd say go Scion all the way. I agree you might want to check out the xB as well, as that has a bit more size.

Get an XD !
I have an XD and my Bro-inlaw has a Fit. He had the Fit B4 my XD came along, but the Fit responds sooooo poorly when getting onto a freeway on-ramp. He says need to make "planned entrances to freeways" (give yourself a lot of room to get up-to-speed.) also, I smoke his @$$ when I pull out. More importantly, the AC in the Fit SUCKS BIGTIME ! The passengers in the rear are just not comfy cool on a bright summer day.
On the PLUS side, the Fit has a $hitload of accessory kit /bolt-on DIY goodies available for purchase, and the XD has few. However, . . . I Still would buy the XD over any fit anytime, anywhere, anyhow... |
