After typing that, I figured out a simple way to remove it from the FRONT of the emblem.

Was I close to reading your mind Charles?
It was chicken lo mein, fried rice, an egg roll, a McFlurry and a hi-c. Most other nights you would have been right, though. I needed my doseage of MSG.

And let me guess... you're on a liquid diet?

Removes easy.

Little heat, and grab an edge with fishing line, and carefully and slowly start to work your way around the emblem.

There are no nuts holding it from the back side, just two pins to keep it positioned correctly on the hatch.

Good luck.

3M body tape. Its the thinnest strongest double sided body tape around. Used for holding body kits and spoilers on.

I'm strongly considering doing this to mine. I just bought one in Meteorite Metallic. If I do it we should do a step by step on mine for everyone. I live in Jersey too.

You beat me to it! I too was considering this but wasnt sure of the look. I like that a lot. I might try this when I shave the other badges off.

Thanks Chris. I'm looking into painting my Netz badge and rear toyota badge metallic blue to match the blue/black theme of the car even though car shell is white interior and rims will be blue and black.

You know I ended up popping off the entire front badge with a bit of force, and once I got it off, I finagled the chrome part off and actually just put the dull, black plastic part back on and it matches pretty good on my black car.

Tonight was project night so I also removed the entire rear wiper assembly and plugged the hole, and removed the rear badge and sanded it to get ready to paint it black this week.
