ultra-light 14" or 15" wheels for Yaris 3dr

What's a good choice for a light but durable wheel at 14" or 15" to replace the stock 14" steelies on a base liftback?

I am not interested in anything bigger than 15" and 14" would prob. be better. I like to do solo and some other AutoX from time to time. TE37s were recommended but these are ~$300 each. Cannot find SSR-C in the small size. Any other choices?

I'll be getting the ssr competitions myelf. 8lbs for the 15"!!!! Tire rack only has 16" right now, but if your patient like I am being then you can get the 15" in due time.

If your looking for cheap rims that weigh nothing then try the rs watanabe's. They also weigh around 8lbs i believe for the 15" and aren't nearly as expensive as the te37's

Thanks, who sells the RS Watanabe's and how do they rate in durability?

SSR-C seems to be the best option right now. I know they make small wheels for Miatas and the like, will keep my eyes on Tire rack for them.

not sure where you can get them, but they have been around for a long time. You often see them on 86 corolla's, or 240sx's, datsuns, etc. Try searching to see who can supply these online. Actually I think there is a yarisworld member who has a set himself if I remember correctly. Sometimes you can find them on ebay for around $400

true. the konig rewinds look great, but they are a bit heavy.

i can source the rs watanabe's for you brand new, but you'll find that the pricing is really not much better then the volks.

best price on wheels right now are between the buddy clubs and the work emotion cr-kai.

Thanks John - how do the gram lights compare to Volks, which I always hear great things about? These days it seems 14's just out of the question / only for track use. Call me crazy but I like the look of the small, tidy wheels on this car.

Looking at 185's or 195's with 50-60 series, that gives about 6.0-6.5 width let's say?

So far I've got:

Volk TE37s 14x6 to 15x6.5 $265 to $320
Volk CE28N 15x6.5 $300
Kodiak 14x6.5 about $300 and up but can get them cheap from a friend
SSR-C 14x6 $253, 15x6 $281
Gram Lights 57s 15x6.5 $200
Work Emotion CR Kai 15x7 $241

I don't know what kind of leeway I can handle in terms of offsets, will keep lookin into this.

How much do those weigh, do you know? The Emotion CR 15x7 in wheelweights is listed at 15lbs which is not that much lighter than the 14" steelies (about 18 lb).

you know if your just looking for track rims with a good price then maybe something like the rota attacks. 15x6.5 and they weigh 10lbs. Very cheap rims also. Probably can get all four for around 300-400.

Well frankly I would prefer the strength of forged wheels as this car will be a daily driver. I already have a Miata which will become the dedicated track machine.

Paying $250 a corner for wheels on a Yaris is kinda silly I will admit, but I don't mind so much for high quality rims. It is looking like SSR-C or Volks at this point. Thanks everyone for the replies.

I've been running the Heliums with the 185/60/15 stock tires for a month now. I bought them from the e-bay seller on your link. We had a problem with some casting flash on the hub of one of the wheels. The seller replaced it with no problems.

I feel the handling improved just by replacing the wheels. The tire sidewall is more straight up and down now due to the wider rim width of the Helium vs. stock 15" steelie. I have photos in the garage area of Yarisworld.

Absolutely no problems. The Heliums are 15x6.5.

I love the look of the Rota Attacks, but the heliums are cheaper, and lighter... im stuck in a tough decision.

Choose any wheels you want, but please stay far away from the Konig Helium...
