more hp for the u.s. market? what is the point?
people interested in a car like that are probably more interested in fuel economy than hp, imo, 70 hp would probably be fine for a car that small. |

The US is spoiled w/ power and convenience (cant say i'm the minority:)
Thats also the reason also why the 1.0 and 1.3 liter's arent sold here. I'd be kinda scared to drive that. Whats it gonna weigh, 3/4 of the yaris? Imagine being hit by a hummer, ouch. |

I love the Aygo, I think its a cool spunky little car, of course I love the Yaris hatch as well! Yikes! I guess this car will be marketed to be a strickly or primarly city run about. I'm just guessing, I saw this news on the Toyotanation board and I was surprised that Toyota is bringing it over here, I would have guessed that the Yaris would be at the bottom of the line up but I guess not! Can't wait for more confirmation on this model. I wonder if it will come with a desiel, maybe just at 100bhp but more torque? Then again I know or guessing this car will be light.

I hope US buyers will start buying small cars. It is starting to piss me off when I see someone in a Hummer or Land Cruiser with one person commuting every day like I do. I think people who do that are usually afraid of being hit and hurt, so they buy the biggest friggin thing on 4 wheels! It's a good thing Terex doesn't make SUVs.

People who drive Hummers and other large vehicles will soon be the only people on the road. I think at some point the only cars youll see driving around are things like Mercedes, Porsche etc. those that can afford ANY market condition in regards to inflation or costs of fuel.
just my opinion. I do like that new Aygo, looks like a 'next purchase' for 2008, a Yaris mini. |
