Will insurance companies ban Mustangs on public roadways next?
It seems like a silly question, but man with all the bad publicity as of late for the platform you have to wonder
Another One - Mustang Crashes

Mustangs/Camaros crash all the time. It's tradition* :þ . It happens every generation of the pony cars. The problem is they are powerful enough to smoke the tires and priced cheaply enough that non-gearheads can afford them. Not a good combo, and those new Mustangs have pretty good power. That being said, the new Mustangs do not seem to do well in a crash. If you look at the aftermath pics of the red one hitting the Dodge, its roof badly deformed. That was not a big crash to do that much structural damage.
*I have to admit I slid one of my Camaros into a curb. |

...and those examples are exactly why Ford finally got with the times and introduced independent rear suspenssion, vs. the classic live axle it's been using for decades. Just so...you know...it doesn't crash into bystanders and trees...

Unfortunately you can't stop people being idiots. You can only hope they learn from the experience and no one gets hurt.
We now have "hoon laws" enabling the police to confiscate the car of anyone doing a burnout or street racing. Too bad if you don't own the car - it will still be confiscated for 3 months and the owner will have to pay storage fees for that time. Postscript. The police looked at using the mustang here as apursuit vehicle, but after testing they decided the brakes were too prone to fading after a few hard stops.

Not sure what year they became standard. Pretty certain 07 was optional. If you have a red blinking light on your dash when the key is out, you have an immobilizer.
