...something I rarely do as I think the manufacturers often do the best job of designing their cars from an aesthetics point of view. But, I was on Ebay and happened to see this cheap tip from China and thought, 'What the hey'.

I've seen a number of round tip ends on Yari and they do look really good, imo.

I'm not completely sold on it, so open to opinions. You won't hurt my feelings.

It'll probably rust off before anyone gets to express their opinion anyway.

Great idea. However, I take no responsibility for dissatisfied buyers. It's pretty thin steel.

Regardless, just checked and there are only 14 left atm. Close to 250 sold...

Haha, true enough. I think a combo at MacDonald's is about twice the cost.

Since deciding that the 06 will be garaged for the winter, maybe there is hope for the tip lasting a bit longer. :)

Likely. However, if the look grows on me, maybe I'll be inspired to fork out a few bucks on a better quality one. So, all is not lost.

Would simply spraying some of your clear coat on the muffler tip help prevent rust?

If it is truly stainless then it'll probably be tougher than you give it credit for. If not, it's throwaway priced to begin with.

You know, Kimona, I thought about that. Just not sure how hot a tip would get. Probably not hot enough to blister the clear coat off. I may yet try that.

Well, they claim it's stainless steel. Not knowing much about ss, I bet there are different quality grades. If so, I expect this would be one of, if not, the cheapest grade. And, yes, it may well prove to be a throwaway item. I'll try to remember to follow up with future posts about how it fares in the elements.

I have the same, but with an angled inlet, it is stainless steel, i've had it for 2 years and no signs of rust.
I had bought it for 6 USD back in 2015

Looks great. I go back and forth on putting a tip on my car, but I like how it looks on yours. Hope it lasts for you.
