Engine torque damper, anybody have one?

I don't know why, but I'm really intrigued by this thing. Does it actually cut down on vibrations from the engine? Is it worth it to install on an automatic liftback?

It doesn't cut down on vibrations. It might even make it worse. It just stops your engine from rolling around in the bay, so you can put all the torque down to the wheels, instead of losing some to the motor mounts.

its worth it but it does create more vibrations since you are making the motor more solid i have one on my tc and it makes a difference but the vibration is noticeable and you notice the difference with the torque its more instant then before

It will make you car vibrate even more but it isn't worth it to throw on an automatic IMO.

Torque is torque, it'll still help an automatic.

Garm aka Caliyaris has them. Go onto microimage and you should be able to contact them and get one.

I custom-made it from Bilstein engine-damper, installed it to my A/T Yaris and it works nicely..
especially when I do engine-brake.

Yes I have a torque damper and it does give you a bit more kick in rapid shifting with less motor movement but a lot and I mean a lot more vibrations at idle when it is more noticeable.

ETDs are a good idea. Bolt-on power adders aren't the only way to get more to the wheels,
deducting parasitic loss is just as important.
And it'll save your motor mounts too, esp. if you have a heavy foot.

i have this, but i also have a supercharger too.before i had it on, the engine would move around alot; atleast when i would rev the engine ( you can see the engine move around at the end of my video in the link in my sig). however, now that i have the torque damper, the engine doesn't go anywhere. however, i don't really notice the car idling that rough? only when the A/C is on, but that is a supercharger related mystery..

I been eyeing one of these for awile after i put on my nst pulley. Car jerks a bit from takeoff now since the crank pulley has been lightend. Hopeing that this will help dampen things a bit. Otherwise i probally got a broken motormount already.
