That was a fun ride home

Started surging, then dropped out of 4th into 3rd, and slammed back up into 4th. Over and over. Off to AAMCO for a new solenoid.

Just got a call from AAMCO, and they told me the following. The speed sensor is fine, and is supplying the correct input to the speedometer. From there it sends a signal to the ECM, which controls the shift solenoids. It's losing voltage from the cluster to the ECM, and the car thinks I'm doing 35 mph when the speedometer reads 70. They said the transmission is perfectly fine otherwise.

Has anyone had this happen?! This thing is my daily and I have a 150+ mile daily commute. Just buy another cluster and have a dealer reflash my keys??

It was a bad ground bolt. The factory location was corroded almost all the way through, maybe 1/16" left. I welded in a patch panel and it fixed it right up. So it wasn't a communication between body computers, sensors, or anything else dealerships and transmission shops recommended.
