2004 toyota echo sportive turbo need help!!

hey everyone, i dont know if this has already been covered in another thread, i tried looking for it but i wasnt able to find it but if it already exists i apologise. i have a toyota echo sportive it comes with the 1NZFE 1.5l engine, now this is the early 2005 so it looks like the 2001-2002 model but with a facelift. ok now to my point. ive gone ahead and purchased a zage turbo kit for my car and i know its for the later model yaris but i know the piping layout and turbo fitting location is the same.

my problem though is the piping for the watercooled turbo!! my car has a drive by cable throttle body and doesnt have coolant lines running through it! so i was wondering if anyone has turbo'd the early 1NZFE engines without the coolant lines runing through them and how did they go about plumbing the coolant lines to the turbo.

if anyone can help me with this i would appreciate it! thanks guys!!

Exactly. They are usually oil, not water cooled.

there are turbochargers that are both oil cooled and water cooled, and when they have journals for water to run through them its advised to plum water lines to them.

Some turbos require both oil and coolant; once the car is turned off, the coolant continues to flow through by heat and pressure. Instead of your oil just sitting there and cooking.

I think you will be fine with just running oil line, but if the turbo already comes with a water one then chances are it might need it. If it already has water lines I would just tap into the upper and lower rad hoses.

Never turbod a Yaris before though.

But AFAIK, the zage kit is not water cooled. I may be wrong.

the zage kit has the td04h 15g turbo (chinese copy) which is indeed watercooled and i suggest strongly that you hook up water lines to it due to the quality of the turbo, it will definately increase its longevity

Probably a bit late to the party... But anyhow, pretty sure these are coolant lines that lead to the throttle body on my sportivo.. I tapped them anyway haha. Engine is from an '03 if that helps.
