ebay intake: would you?
i already know that most of you will say NO to an ebay intake....but id like some coherent reasons why you would or would not run an ebay intake
in my personal experience the intake pipes are all the same (+/- some workmanship on the finish (i bought an ebay sri for my xrs and had to file the cut made for the MAF down to make it fit properly)) and its often the filters that you'd want to replace with a k&n or a dryflow of some sort. the other thing is that the rubber vibramounts and connectors will wear more quickly than ones supplied with a name-brand intake..... would i run an ebay intake in the yaris? you bet i would. but im cheap.

Yep, I would use one, and your reasons summed it up well...

Hey I bought a $400 intake for my 350z and I still had to mod it, lol. IMO if your getting it just for the tubing then there is nothing wrong... even then you may just have to replace the filter once a year. People don't like ebay cuz it's cheap but if your still gonna have to replace it every coupple of years then what's the point. I was gonna do the same but then I found a used WR intake that I'm going to use the tube from.

well, i would personally prefer a short ram from ebay as you dont really need a vibramount
but even if you factor about 50$ for an intake from ebay (you can get matrix sri's for abotu 20$ shipped now, lol), you replace the filter ($50 for k&n), replace the silicone connector with a 4ply (20$) youre still only looking at about 120$ which i think is still quite a bit cheaper than most 'name brand' intakes, no?

Well, the WR Dragon intake is like $100 + shipping... thats the only thing I can think of thats cloe to that price. The WR Secret one is like $80 more for a stupid filter that you can buy for like $40. If you don't want to hastle go with the WR Dragon but I'd rather build something IMO.
