Rear window washer - liftback

The nozzle for my rear window washer dribbles a stream of washer fluid onto the hatch glass -- it doesn't spray/atomize the liquid. Is that normal?

The rear of the car is the first to get dirty if you drive through any sort of flying dust and the rear wiper is pretty indispensable if you hope to see through the rear window.

I thought it was pretty funny the first time I used the back washer. But it still works good .

Anybody know the steps to actually getting both the washer and the rear wiper off? I'm thinking I don't use those too much, and I'd much rather go for a clean(er) rear end.

Or maybe there's an easy way to snap the wiper off/on?

I wanna know how to change out the damn wiper when it dries up finally....

my friend's wife has an Xb and same setup with the rear wiper and he snapped the arm off and had to buy a new one with the wiper like $75 IIRC.

...anyone know how? (looking through threads for a d.i.y as i type this...)
