Thanks to Myfirsttoyota for the site I have the tire comparison below. the Grabber ATX are listed as 26.9" but .1 of an " is not enough to matter. I need to measure my clearance and may need to mod my lift some more. I did math but I think I got the wrong measurement on the small tire the first time maybe.

Doing the maths as the GT guys say. I am giving the car 1.5" of lift. 26.9" Grabber - 23.5" Altimax = 3.4" Diameter / 2 = 1.7" needed clearances. I will need to maybe install a spring stiffener to the front or back and cut the bumpers a bit. I am also willing to trim fender metal and add flares and offset with spacers for the width of the tire. I am going to do some measurements in the back wheel wells and arches now that the lift is in a settled from a few drives to work and see where I might get an issue or not. |

You may be able to get away with the amount of lift you’re putting on. I’m running 185/65r15s on stock steelies, which are 24.5” diameter, and have no issues with rubbing.
When I bought the tires they were originally mounted on Kia Rio wheels which were the same width but had a +36 offset instead of the stock +45 and I got rubbing over bad bumps where the fender attaches to the bumper. It’ll mainly be the fun trial and error in finding out what works best I think! Excited to see those beefy grabbers on there though!

so my sport edition F12's are 14X6 38MM offset. you say 45MM is stock. I need to remember myself what that means for wheel in well position. Less puts wheel farther out bound, more puts it more inbound or is it the reverse?
Size: 14x6 Offset: 38mm Backspacing: 5.00" Bolt Pattern: 4-100 Rec. Tire Size: 175/65-14 Weight: 15.0 lbs. |

Yeah so the +38 will sit 13mm further away from the strut. Wheel width is another thing to take into consideration though. For example, the wheels I had for a Kia Rio were 5.5” wide and +36 offset. The tire shop was originally going to order me a 6” wide wheel with a +45 offset. With the extra 0.5” wheel width the offset difference wouldn’t have mattered.
This is a good website to get a visual of how offsets and widths will affect your wheel placement. https://www.willtheyfit.com

If you do go the route of the 27x8.5 grabbers maybe take a peek at what the minimum required wheel width is for that tire too, might factor into things.

OK, from that site, I am good for suspension clearances. Outer wheel arch may rub but I won't need offset spacers from the looks of it. The protege wheels I have are 14X5.5 45MM offset. The wider tire, had to put closest Pmetric size as 27x8.5 screwed it up.

oh and here is the plan to stop the over compression of the strut top rubber mount. Those are the bump stops out of my CRV struts I rebuilt.

So I have yet to get the modded lifts in the front but I did measure my rear wheel wells and I have 2.25" before the front of the arch would get hit, which means no trimming near the door. I'll need to trim the back bumper a bit as I have just about 1.5" at the rear of the arch and the tires are 1.6" bigger. We'll see for sure but trimming the plastic bumper is not a deal breaker. I need to mock up a fake tire on the alloy rims to check the front once I get it lifted finally. I may get to it tonight or tomorrow depending on honey do's etc.

You could just go to a tire shop or an auto junker and see what a cheap used tire that size would cost. I imagine not much. Might be able to give you a better idea for trimming if you have some actual rubber that size.
Interested to see how those grabbers look on there! They’re going to be some beefy tires!
