Yaris hauling dirt bike?

I have a Honda XR200 and it is street legal here in AZ however its mostly made for dirt and i dont mind diving around the city, i would hate to ride this thing about an hour out to the trails then on the trails then back home

Now the bike is not that heavy. I was looking at the bike ramps that hook into the receiver hitch and carry the bike on the back of the car.

Anybody done this before? I would think it would be able to handle a dirt bike

I can lift the back of the bike up while on it to turn it into the garage if that helps.

I have never had to haul anything so this is all new to me

thanks!

pretty sure those bike racks are only meant to hold 80-100 lbs... How much does your bike weigh? 150-200-250? Thats a lot of tongue weight on a hitch too... I thought the yaris was only supposed to have like 70-100 lbs on the hitch.

No problem getting the bike on the hitch, but you're gonna throw the handling all to hell, and the rear springs will be bottoming out, or nearly-so. You'd be much better off throwing a little trailer on it for the motorcycle, like a HF 4x4 or 8x4 with a motorcycle rail.

A Dirt Bike is too heavy for a Yaris hitch. 50kg /110lbs should be the maximum tongue weight for trailers and so is the maximum weight for bike racks.

You have to go with a trailer.

Have you looked at the motorcycle trailers in a bag? When your done with it take it apart and store it in the closet.

My trailer is small enough that I can easily wheel it around myself. I suppose you could store it upright on the end, but I would definitely make a spot for it, so it's not just resting/rusting on the ground.

It's 4'X4' harbor freight/tractor supply co./CSP/etc. trailer. They're all the same. I got mine of craigslist fully assembled, easy greaser bearings, wood sides built for $250 -- which is what they sell for online unassembled. They also make special extensions/add-ons for motorcycles.

That is the reason I do not have a motorcycle. My wife will not ride one, and I must have a 4-wheeled, enclosed automobile for commuting over the mountains in winter. This means that there are already two vehicles in the garage, as well as 3 bicycles, so there is no room for a motorcycle.

Do you not have a side yard where you can store a small trailer? For example, I would put one just inside the gate to our back yard.

yea I can put in in the yard on the side, but i would have to make sure i could move it to the backyard and out of the backyard

Sodium Ducks would be like what I need, that way I can just pick it up and put it in the backyard when not in use.

i dont mind riding it on the street but not as an all day thing, its a dirtbike so its not geared as a cruiser and tends to drone after a while
