Photos of how to pry alternator . Pry alternator til it hits adjustment mark made with a Milwaukee jobsite marker. Tighten 12 mm bolt with right hand while holding pry bar/ alternator in place with left hand. Pry off motor mount as shown

Couldn’t fit a torque wrench even with a crows foot or torque adapter on water pump pulley . Tightened with a 0 offset hazet 10x11 TIL pulley moved and slipped belt .

The gasket scrapers. A razor blade at 90 or a SK gasket scraper with my thumb on top so it stays flat .

I replaced factory hose clamp with a work drive clamp. It was hard to get back on thermostat housing even when compressed all the way with hose clamp pliers .

I used a asin water pump and gasket. Genuine Toyota thermostat o ring. Stant thermostat . Had alternator rebuilt at chestnut hill electric for $108. It got new brushes , bearing and voltage regulator.

Due to close proximity of fender, it takes some maneuvering to get alternator and water pump in and out but definitely doable.

Wasn’t too bad. Had to finagle water pump and alternator in and out. Thin head ratchets helped a lot. It was very hard to keep socket on lowest water pump bolt when torquing to spec. Plus it was a pain scraping the minimal rubber gasket residue off due to tight quarters .
