Smile Work in Progress:

I drilled one of the spheres to mount the mechanical system, same as the big spheres just smaller.

I'm sorry I didn't clean up before I took the pictures!

Thanks,

Staging is OK I guess??? nothing to compare to!, even with the Tweeters in the cup holders.

Playing the 7 drums sounds like, I'm surrounded by them instead of having them spread out evenly, is that because the way I have my mids and tweeters???.

I did play with TA a little bit, but just guessing, I'll let the P99 do it's magic with the microphone that came with, after putting the tweeters in the new little spheres. For now sounds like this:

If any body would like a copy of this short song... let me know and PM me your email.

Tonight I switched to SNOW tires and since I was down there I treated the front quarter panels, remember this VIDEO... well not any more!

Whoa! Ummm....Derick...we need to figure something out. ALL the drum tracks need to be in front of you. 1-3 and 5-7 need to be on that dash much more than they are. You're seeing the huge holes between 3-4-5, that needs to be fixed. We need to mess with the Time Alignment here. I SOOOO wish I could sit you down in mine. We could hash the staging out, even though mine are set up completely differently. It would give you a point of reference to work off of.

PM me your EQ settings and your time alignment measurements and we'll work on it.

I know, instead of saying "Front Stage" I have "In Stage" sort of speak!

That is how it feels with some songs.

FYI

Talking about deadening...

I would like to report one of the best if not the best treated area for my Yaris, Yes the front quarter panels, you know I've been doing a lot of deadening on this car, but the really good one, the "bang for your buck"... it's right there, for rainy or snow days (salt & sand), this mod, really makes a big difference!

With only 2 CLD tiles and less than 1 square foot of Mat (per side), the end results are price less! I really recommend to deaden this areas, I don't know why I didn't do it before!

This is the achilles heel of the Yaris, please Toyota take notice!

Thanks, good luck with your install and don't forget to share pictures of your equipment/progress.

I'm sorry...
This is what I mean with tweeters in cup holders... (it was temporary)

Looks real good Derick! I was wondering how big the ball for the tweeters was. Even though I will have my main speakers in the doors, I'm thinking of doing the encloser for my tweeters.

Thanks,

It's a fun learning process, the spheres help with diffractions with high frequencies, the Mids got a sphere but it's more looks than function, I'm very happy with the results.

I'm still running the Mid-Bass speakers in the doors, all 3 speakers make what it's called "3 way Front Stage", very interesting concept and sounds great! even though I'm going to move the Mid-Bass speakers from the doors to Kick panels, the "Doors" are not really a good speaker Box!

Try to keep tweeters close to the main speaker, so you don't separate frequencies, sounds much better when all the music comes from 1 point

It is interesting about the door "enclosure" in regards to mid bass. We have nice big doors...for some reason, even if fully deadened, the doors don't perform as well as some other cars.

Although I haven't gotten into the door, if its like most cars I am toying with the idea of sectioning off as much as possible to create an enclosure for the one in the door....to create a cabinet so to speak. I would think if sound is rumbling around in a door, even if treted is just too much room. Mine are merely some rockford fosgate components, so I'm expecting too much...just trying to maximize what I have. may get something else in the future, but for now they will do the trick. gonna order either a kenwood 545 HU or pioneer 7200 ( both are HD tuner units) this weekend and a 50-60 watt amp for them to feed on. gonna get some mating material for the doors too to start.

...Great idea...

The challenge is to get around the window. There is the idea of making door panels.
