for the cost of it (most likely 5k little more little less give or take) it's more worth it to just start out with a manual ^^ other than that no1 on the forum has gone and done a lot of research on this.

wait until the junk yards start filling up with wrecked Yarii and swap everything over.

You could probably find a dealer with a manual on the lot and trade them straight up since autos are way easier to sell.

List of crap you'll need (and I've probably forgotten something):

-factory service manual (I don't care how many times you've done it- the details will kick your ass)
-manual transmission with clutch/pressure plate and flywheel
-ECM
-complete wiring harness
-manual transmission mount
-shift linkages
-clutch master cylinder and lines
-pedal set
-shift lever
-miscellaneous brackets for shifter mechanism and linkages
-acetylene torch
-welding equipment
-spare sheet metal
-a shit ton of patience and the temper of a nun

Seriously, just go get a manual-equipped car. I once helped a buddy transform his Accord into a 5 speed, complete with JDM F23 swap. The transmission transplant alone took 4 full weekends, over $2000 in miscellaneous parts (not including the transmission) and a fistfight. I will never do that shit again.

If you wanted it so bad, just trade in your car and get a new yaris with MT and pay the diff. Probably cost you less to pay the diff of the 2 cars than bust a mission and switch trans that is a big iffy.

I agree ill just wait. Later on down the line if I really want to do this I will. Though I just dont see the point really in putting a whole bunch of performance parts into an AT. What do you think about this? An AT with a turbo kit and misc performance parts. If this just sound dumb to most people? Why?

Turbo in an automatic is more of a hassle. More parts will have to be swapped out in order to handle the forced induction compared to a manual which has less parts to upgrade. It don't sound dumb to me but if you have the money then be my guest. I have an automatic and I plan on dropping the Blitz supercharger into my car.

I plan as well to do alot of mods to make my car more comfortable to my preferances. I guess this is where this thread is going to take a turning point for me. The new question for me then "what is over all better AT/MT?" I want a great car that performs well.Somewhere down the line do you see making the crossover to a MT something that would be an advantage to me? As far as speed and horses that is.

Are you talking 1/4 mile times?

All else being equal -
MT car (with perfect driver) - is faster in the 1/4
AT car (with normal driver) - isn't much slower, and usually more consistent.

The MT is way more fun to drive though and anybody can mash a gas pedal...

EDIT: I agree with some of the others though, don't bother swapping. Buy a new car now while they are still hot and you won't take a bath on the trade. It would certainly be less than the cost of a tranny swap.
