Speed needle

Ok, so I changed the speedometer color and everything went fine. I put it all back together and put the speed needle back and fixed it to 0 and when I turned the car on it went below 0. Next I tried to take the faceplate off and turn it on and change the below 0 to 0 so it stayed put. I drove a bit and after called it a day. Next morning the needle was back to below 0 so what i did was push it in harder and drove around and it would not move at all. Stuck on 0. Now I loosened it up again and again put it to 0 and later went out to check and again. Below 0. Hope I'm making sense here. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for typos. Typing from iphone

I suggest taking the front cover off, and then adjusting it after turning on the ignition.

^ Thats exactly what i did. It was below 0 and i took the cover off and turned the car on, moved it to exactly 0 and drove around. Worked perfect. I put the cover back on and got in the car the next morning and it was back to below 0.

Does it seem like the needle's tube is slipping?

not really. At first when i moved it, the needle felt loose, but i turned car on and it felt some resistance so i moved it to 0. now i pushed it in more and it never moved up or down, just stuck on 0. So i loosened it up some but after i drive and leave the car it just falls below 0

When you adjust it powered-on, you have to pull the needle off and press it back in place. If you rotated it while powered-on, that explains why on the next trip it dropped back below zero. It only recalibrates itself on power-up. If you move the needle once it has already calibrated, you bypass the initial calibration.

I had that same problem when I did my LED change, though mine eventually corrected itself back to 0, but now I have the issue if i accelerate too fast the needle gets stuck at 60.
