03 Yaris Dome light help

Good afternoon people 😊,

I'm a new here and it's good to be on here, shall look forward to browsing the forum 😊

Anyhow, I have a 2003 Toyota yaris 1.0, had her about 3 months now, I noticed when I first got the car that the dome light wasn't working and thought it was only the bulb, today I had to the time to investigate, I checked the bulb and it seemed fine, I also checked the fuse just in case and it was fine, so I bought a new bulb and fitted it and it still didn't work? I made a quick circuit tester with a side light bulb and conected the wires up to the bulb and then to the plug that goes into the dome bulb holder and it didn't light up? Does this mean there's a problem with the circuit somewhere? I did connect the wires up to where the bulb is held and the sidelight bulb lit up once and then went out? I know it can be a stupid mistake but I have used the switch to turn the dome light on but nothing?

I hope it all made sense and you understand what I'm talking about 😊
Cheers

They are all fed from the same circuit, so it is definitely not a blown fuse. The light blue/yellow wire should measure 12 volts and the red/white wire is grounded if a door is open or not connected (open circuit) if they are all closed. The "ON" as opposed to "DOOR" mode bypasses the door switches and makes a chassis ground connection right at the light fixtures mount.

Start with checking the voltage on the light blue/yellow wire.

Correct. Those are the wires that connect to the dome light assembly.
