08 Yaris Manual Sedan Running Poorly

Hey Everyone,

Just today, after an inspection on the car, I came across oil in my PCV and surrounding hoses. In addition, my coolant has become a murky brown colour when the coolant was red when I last checked it 2 months ago. Upon further inspection my oil when viewed on the dipstick was dark brown and smelt like burnt oil.

All this after only 5000kms and 8 months running time on the oil.

Furthermore, there is a significant decrease in overall performance and power which I'm not sure of the cause.

One last thing I should add, was when driving back from shopping a few days ago, I noticed a minor, intermittent ticking noise coming from the engine.

If anyone can help me and give me some advice on what it could be, that would be fantastic.
