anyone know what to use to pump air out of a/c line..

unfortunetely i cant find an ac line air pump in toronto dont think canadiantire has them or do they.. ,wanna replace my sensor and will require to pump out the air in my a/c line before i can refill it.. anyone thanks??

You need a vacuum pump. You can buy a cheapy one that you drive with an air compressor off ebay for under $50 or you can buy an electric one for around $200.

ctscott my buddy got air compressor any chance i can use that to pump it out? im not sure if compressor can do that?

you still need the pump to vaccum out the sysetem. Compressor alone just pushes air.

I have one of those. It does pull a vacuum, but it does not actually pull it to quite where you are supposed to to properly prep an AC system for refilling. I did use it though before I upgraded to an electric vane-type vacuum pump. You have to run that one for about 30 minutes to reach its max suction. In the meantime your air compressor is running the whole time as well to keep up with it.

If you are interested in trying that type, I would be willing to sell you mine. You also need a hose set to connect the pump to the car.

You can no longer vent freon to the atmosphere, especially from a non leaking system.
A recovery unit is used to pump out the freon in a storage container, then recycle it back into the system.

\Im assuming the system is full, and the switch went bad.


Spend the money, and do it the right way.
