Apparently 2016 US deliveries will be supplemented by Japanese manufactured units. According to what i read on Fitafreaks forum.

They are gems.

I'd be bent if my.new car used a quart every thousand miles.

My blue Yaris didn't start burning oil until 270,000 + miles, IIRC.....and my oil change regimen (...can't really call it a regimen...only about 20 over 300,000 miles) = pretty much the opposite of trini's 500,000 + miles of very frequent oil changes.

If you like hatchbacks, you are limited to:

Kia Rio/Forte
Hyundai Accent/Elantra
VW Golf
Chevy Spark/Sonic
Ford Fiesta/Focus
Honda Fit

I might be missing a few. Only the Golf is available as a 2dr.

In general, I like to stick to Honda or Toyota for cars. My next car might be a Honda Fit manual, even though I dislike the current minivan look. The Scion iM looks promising.

Looks like it's going to be hard to find an exact replacement for a 2dr super compact Yaris.

I don't put a drop in between my 10k mile oil changes in my 13 Avalon Limited. Been that way in every Toyota I've ever owned.

Most of the Honda/Acuras that I have owned started losing a bit of oil to "worn seal" evaporation or whatever around 75-100K+ - but it was easily 100% remedied by simply adding a bottle of 'BARS Main Seal Repair' to the oil after after every oil change.

Well...in no certain order and i could buy tomorrow or in a year...
2. 2016 special order FiST in black with orange Recaros and flat black stripes. ...because it runs so sweet at 20k. Im afraid id have to prove my manliness at every light. Comes with advanced driver training.
3. 2014-15 Abarth - Cabriolet or not - in black or white with black or red leather. Black top. Its full of passion for under 20k. Whats to prove! Comes with advanced driver training. Will it hold up to 20,000 miles per year? Actually currently looking at leftover GQ...."the machine for the modern man!"triple black.
4. 2016 Japanese built Fit Ex in black because its the sensible alternative and comes with sunroof for 18k. Only non Yaris here that could truly replace my 2009. So practical. But the engine sounds terrible.
5. 2016 or expected-to-be-refreshed 2017 Japanese build Mazda3 5dr 6speed S GT...its pretty and has soul (especially in soul red with tan leather) for 24k. I want to wax it.
6. 2014 or 2015 Juke Nismo rs in black or white with red leather Recaros if it was 20k. A sense of humor. Good Design here...like the Mazda3.
7. 2016 Scion IM in black or blue and the 6 speed because my Yaris has been so good...and it looks somewhat as good as the Mazda3. Somewhat. 20k plus leather.
8. Screw it....a 2016 flat plane crank GT350 R in performance blue for 60k....because i might croak tomorrow!

Toyota, are you listening? Fomoco follows the forums, DO YOU????
Craig
You could wait for the 2016 Focus RS that will arrive in dealerships in the Spring of 2016...345 HP turbo 2.3 liter. Same engine in the Mustang = 310 HP. One trim level of the Civic Type-R will be available with a 308 HP engine that will be built in the USA. However, that engine won't be available in the Type-R for the USDM .

But the RS twins are getting too pricey to drive the wheels off.

The blurbs I read conveniently didn't include any reference to price. Perhaps they felt that would cause a click to another page....before ads could catch eyeballs.

Focus RS will be 38k before dealer creep will happen. Because there has been so much interest alreay generated for the car they are saying they could easily do what the Hellcat did and could cost as much as 45k. I am waiting until the spring to trade my Highlander just for the RS. Another serious option for me will be the IS 200t as long as they bring it to US shores. There has been a rash of aites reporting that it will and those that say that it won't. I would seriously hope that Yota brings it to NA. People are generally excited about turbo based cars now and there is also the falsehood of better FE with turbos.

No doubt they are fishing for the most. Today, if i can get an Abarth Cabrio for 18 (10k off) im in. Otherwise new Yokohamas in 8/1/15. 60 bucks off per Discount Tire. Its great to have a car so dependable i can choose or not to drive it another 50,000 miles. Or more!

That is a tremendous amount of fun per dollar, even if you pour some back in for repairs. You could take it on the highest in the nation limit part of SH130 between Seguin and Mustang Ridge, through Austin to Dripping Springs, and then (on a sunny day) over to Big Bend.

Thats what i thought. But we're not there yet.

Another dealer is advertising 2015 Abarth (23k sticker) for 17.9k. No option car. But its an Abarth.

Hmmm.....I didn'r realize until today that the HR-V has the "magic seat" feature () found in the Fit. The (Base) LX HR-V has the same front headroom as the Fit, and 8/10 of an inch more rear headroom. It is 20cm longer than the Fit. When I saw the 2015 Fit at the Houston Auto Show in January, I thought it was a shame that AWD wasn't offered. With the same seating/cargo configurations as the Fit (IIRC, Honda calls them 'Modes' ) and the addition of AWD, I might be able to put up with the CVT (companion to the '14 Yaris with a manual). I'd probably wait until the 2018 MY re reliability (Fits out of that plant in Mexico have had some issues), and wait until the premium that the 2016 as a new in demand model is commanding at many Honda dealers. I haven't sat in one yet.

The HRV is basically a Fit. Be careful with that CVT, some Honda Fit owners are flooding the forums with issues from the CVT. They do offer a manual if you were interested.
