Need to replace front grill on 2009 Sedan
Living in NYC my car gets bumped and banged a lot during on street parking. After one month of having my new 2009 Yaris, the top front grill got cracked and broken.
I am thinking of replacing it but I have no idea how much it will cost and if the dealership will do it for me. It's really only cosmetic so I am not in a hurry. Just doing research at this point for what my options are. I was recommended to go to Garm at Microimage but I cannot find a grill for the 2009 Sedan. The one I found specifically says "Not for 2009 model". Am I just not finding it? Any other suggestions? Prices? I am going to the dealership tomorrow for an oil change so I will ask them but am afraid it will be expensive. Thanks. |

I'm guessing it will be at least $200 for the dealer to replace . You could wait until somebody else bumps the Yaris and get their insurance to pay

why not get an aftermarket one from micro image?
I think the sporty ones look better anyways.

I would wait and get an aftermarket one if I were you. Looks better and cheaper.

I don't think there is any aftermarket option right now.

I just went to the dealer today and was quoted $179 for the grill and was told the labor for installation would be around $117 or so. The parts manager hinted to me that I would be able to install it myself. Is it really that easy? A few screws and some snaps???

That's not as pricey as I thought it would be and yea, installing yourself is quite easy. Not worth $117 that's for sure. If you wanted to wait a while, I'm sure you could get an aftermarket grill that looks a bit better for around 60-80 bucks *unpainted*.

i don't think the grill comes painted. If 117$ install includes painting, it's well worth it.
I paid 75$ to get my grill painted. |

if so, then you should do it yourself. Once you've done it, it'll be easy for the next time.
the bumper should be easy to take off.. couple screws and clips. |
