Intake manifold notes and specs from today. As always, you can count on full disclosure and 100% information when we have something to show you.

I'm pretty happy with the results.

Our manifold made some nice power in the 3000-5000 rpm range, where most people will use it well. With some tuning, the top end will yield some power as well, AFR went pig rich at 5500+

ambient temperature was 90 degrees F

87 octane (91 would have helped us)
tested on a stock Yaris
Engine and bay were hotter for the pulls with MI manifold
Dyno Dynamics (tough dyno with numbers, 10-15% lower than DynoJet)
***some changes and improvements to be made in production
rich on top -- will deliver more power with some tuning
no CEL's
sounds badass

Here is the dyno chart (sorry for the large image). Grey is MI manifold, the other line is stock plastic mani. Chart shows power and torque comparisons.

We did not have a chance to test it with the 1ZZ throttle body today, but that probably would have helped a bit more. Just a guess. Future dyno session for sure.

I wonder why the ecu decided to go so rich? I guess a tune will squeeze a bit more out.

I can't wait to buy one and install it with a 1zz tb. Any plans to try it out on a yaris with some mild mods? Id love to see how this does on a car with i/h/e and a 1zz tb.

^ I sure want to or with a Zage kit at low boost.

I think I'll throw one on my car with a 70mm TB and see what it pulls too. Let's see what 25 psi does to it.

Congratulations, Garm! It looks like a really nice fat torque curve.

In what gear did you run it? My runs took about three times as long as your dyno video! Also what intake did you run on the throttle body. It was difficult to make it out in the video.

3rd gear pulls. Simota air filter (I think) on stock throttle body/MAF tube. (the rubber tube that feeds the stock airbox).

we tried pulls with and without air filter attached -- made no difference in power/torque at all.

Toyotas always seem to dump fuel on the top end. My tercel before the turbo would go to 10.3-10.5 range for the last 1200rpm...i called it Evo style...just blowing out black smoke.

Its also why i can get away with mild boost with no tuning...im still 11.6~ on the top end

Yeah I observed that too on the 1NZ, perhaps it's a feature from Toyota engineers, prevent detonation in the worst possible conditions?

3rd gear would have been cheating anyway.

1 to 1 is the most accurate, and the pull is long enough to record with precision -- in tooter's case, great precision.
