It's been here for a while, and I have to say it's great improvement over the 1st gen xB. It finally doesn't look like an outdated early 90's design.

Does Australia have the Scion xD (would be called the Toyota Ist or Urban Cruiser there)? This has also been out for 3 years in the US.

I sat in an xB once, made my Jeep Wrangler feel round in comparison! And the xD shares the same platform as the Yaris! Cheers! M2

No, it's an '011. It has a new front end, as well has "regular" backup lights, instead of the cool single bumper lamp.
The xB is a great value and a good bang-for-the-buck. However, it's gotten lost in the shuffle now that's it's so mainstream. I'd rock a Cube before one of these. |

^ I never understood how one reverse light is soooo cool. The Thai market version of the Yaris has only one reverse light (on the left) and a rear fog lamp on the right. The rear fog lamp is cool and all, but it's just plain retarded to have one reverse light. . . not cool! I don't understand what's so cool about not letting people on your right side know you are backing up. I don't understand what would be so cool if you hit somebody or somebody hit you backing out of a driveway or a parking space.
It's done this way in some countries because a rear fog light is legally required, and rather than add lights, they just switch some wiring and remove a reverse light, ie Corolla. It's one of the things that REALLY annoys the hell out of me with the Yaris (in this market). |
