Little Q and A for a new guy...

Im going to test drive a Yaris today, im 99.9% sure im buying one. I just have to make sure my fat @ss fits in it. Everyone tells me this will not be a prob though. I am looking at a 07 Yaris Hatchback and was curious about what you guys thought about holding out until the 08's were on the lott. I would have no problem with an 07, but in pics ive seen in this forum some hatchbacks have 4 doors! I like the 07 hatchback because of the gas mileage and affordibility, but whats the deal with the 4 door hatchback? I may want one of those. Sorry if my questions r too vague, but im very excited about buying a yaris, and wanna know everything before i head off to the dealership.

I also read a post over the weekend where someone said they were 6'2" and 300+ lbs and that they thought getting in and out of the Yaris LB was no problem at all mainly due to the larger doors.

Ahh, ok. Both good news replies :) Cant wait to go drive a Yaris. The LB doesnt have the cool tactometer does it? And i can buy an aftermarket one? The only thing i like about the other two yaris versions are the cool consoles with the other type of displays and tactometer. I think the LB only has one option for that stuff right?

The Liftback has alot of more options then the sedan. The 07 Liftbacks do nothave a tach but i've read that either all or just the liftback sport will have a tach (not sure) If you do get an 07 there are plenty of aftermarket tach's you can get with DIY guides on this site.

i'd hold out for the '08 LB sport.. it's almost out anyway. And I think your choices of '07 might be limited since they're making room for the '08. Plus, like nqd says.. at least the sport version will come with the tach.

My Fat Ass fits in fine...

That was the biggest WOW factor for me when I test drove my Yaris. I did NOT feel cramped at all. I am 6 foot 2 and 280# and I fit fine. I even have almost 2 inches of headspace. Hell... my head would skim the roof of my Sante Fe. Have fun with your car dude...

So ive just returned from the test drive and i loved the Yaris LB. BUT, the dealer (and ive called others to verify), that the LB in my region does not come with Power Package (power locks, windows, cruise, etc) I live in Buffalo, NY and would have to drive one in from out of the region which is free but puts extra miles on the car. Im soo aggrivated. Also there were no standard, Bayou Blue, LBs in the region at all!! I love where i live, but im guessing more pupulated places get better selections :( Where can i find out if the 08 LB Sport will invclude these options in my region? AHHH!

Well, its probably not going to help, since a 300lbs and a 280lbs got in fine.

But I'm 6'3" 220lbs. Fit fine. My buddy, 6'5" 270~ lbs. Fit fine.

....... doh. I just read where you test drove it. lol.

The thing is, you put a few miles on and however many hours at first, but this is a car you'll have for years to come..so, that initial sidebar would be worth the effort, IMO. Good decision on your purchase, either way

They put 46 miles on my car to drive it from another dealership to their dealership. But it doesn't matter because I got my car ... a car is meant to be driven and put miles on it.. so what if it's just a few miles. Someone on here has had theirs for 150,000 miles (in one yr) and it's still running fine.

I'd wait a couple weeks for the 08'. If nothing else, it gives you a chance to find exactly what you want. And, it will provide a slight boost in 5 years or whenever you decide to sell it/trade it in. It will be 1 year newer

I am 6'4" knockin on 6'5" 300 lbs and I fit fine. I fit no problem in my s sedan. Just depends on how much you wanna spend. I had to wait 3 months for mine when they first came out over a year ago. It came right off the boat in California and they shipped it on a truck to Indiana.
