Dyno Challenge 50.3KW..
I did my first dyno test for my yaris....it is 50.3KW at the wheel in gear one...is it unexpected performance or it is normal?

I've never heard of a dyno test in 1st gear. Best in 3rd or 4th?

Haha yeah why are you doing a dyno challenge in 1st gear. Most people have done it in 4th gear i think.

yea testing in first gear is just plain silly. At that point the tourque is multiplied to such a silly extent that it tells you nothing about the engine and everything about the gearing. And that is still only about 68 whp.

I guess you could always go back and ask them to do a proper dyno and say you weren't happy with what they did. In the proper gear this time. But i don't think i'd trust a place to re-dyno the car if they didn't even know to not dyno it out of 1st gear.

If it is a 1.3 litre motor than that's pretty right I would think, no matter what gear it was in).

you want the gear w/ the ratio closest to 1:1
but 3rd is typically the best....4th you hit the speed limiter before you hit redline so 3rd, for the yaris, is what you want...

Not sure km/h but at 118mph is our governor, and that's in 4th gear at about 5k rpms... still plenty of 4th and all of 5th to go :D
