Useless fold down seats- sedan

I think I've found the only thing I hate on this car that isnt cosmetic. The folding rear seats suck! The hole is so small and the angle makes it uneasy to fit anything large in the back. The box I speak of ia about 4'X2.5'X 10-11" wide- not terrifble long, or wide, or thick but the hole behind the seats is so small that it just barely fits through (with a little persuation). This is why I'm getting a 400$ 1/4 ton truxk next week lol. Oh well, it still looks good and is great on gas, just a little dissapointed by this problem.

Buy a liftback. Problem solved.

yes but note that the back, and front seats are taken. Any family of mine or my wife wont be staying for only 3 or 4 days so they wont be packing light! I've seen the hatchie trunk and it's just too small to fit much luggage. I like the size of the sedan trunk other than the through-hole, it can fit my duffel bag, ruck sack, combat webbing and nuke-suit bag with tons of room to spare, but beware of long items! Long items is where the hatchie is better, but I'm coping by buying a 4 cyl nissan truck

The sedan has a nice sized trunk -- it's impressive on first glance for most people. Tho I must agree the "hole" is stupid. The Corollas are like that too -- needlessly constricted, unless it's some kind of body stiffening/roll protection.

Although, it is all a slightly needless comparison -- as most should know, the lift-back is a Vitz and the sedan is a Balta. I have no idea why they thought they needed to badge them both the same in foreign markets.

I personally am a hatch man, but the sedan had a so much cooler front end IMHO. The Vitz just doesn't come off as a "hot hatch" to me -- but I used to drive a Mk II Volkswagen.

Im doing the opposite, selling my 4 cyl tacoma to get a yaris HB instead.
Only because I dont really need a truck like I thought I did. Full coverage insurance for a young guy is tough on tacoma's there too damn valuable lol.

well, I sold my exploder to get this yaris, but now I realize just how much bulky cargo I actually carry, so at least I dont drive a 6 cyl exploder and 8 cyl crown vic anymore! on a side note I got my 400$ truck last night and now the hood wont open lol, at least now I wont be bored and I can get my hands dirty again

Disagree.

I am AGAIN going on a 3-4 day trip to the US and we're gonna have problems packing for all 4 of us getting it into my hatch.

Took a 3 day trip last year for a festival and things were CRAMPED way to tight my hatch. The extra space of the sedan's trunk would have definitely been appreciated (or even teh extra space in a Fit!)

I dont care what anyone says, if ur traveling w/ 3 or 4 person (my Yaris Hatchback isnt an RS so no split folding back seat), the Yaris is definitely lacking space.

3 isnt bad, bc u can spile up luggage beside the lone back passenger, but being able to store more of that luggage in the larger sedan truck would be even nicer

(note: i dont cover up my back rear window entirely... i need to be able to see out of it a bit for my own comfort)

Yep, the LB just wasn't designed for 4 people and their luggage. Unless you are staying at a nudist colony that is! hehe

Yeah, anyone who's seen the cargo space should guess that one. It's tiny. It'll hold 4 people and a plastic bag or two of groceries. Certainly not anything more.

If I get a LB, I'll be cruzin' with the back seats down all the time anyway.... my hatch/roadster!
