2nd to 3rd around 35MPH

Me too... I must be really feathering!

I generally don't watch my MPH, but all the time I look at my tach.

I think my shifts are roughly?

1st to 2nd at 10MPH
2nd to 3rd around 25MPH
3rd to 4th around 30 MPH
5th at around 40MPH

My environment is big valleys and small mountains... the Northern Alleghenies of PA. When I'm level I shift between 1,600 to 1,900 RPM... Hills and ramps around 2,000 to 2,200... PA mountains around 2,300...

Shifts are with nothing in the car except me @ 160 lbs. Little higher when I have weight.

I was wrong I checked today and I actually shift at lower speeds than I origionally posted.
Do you have the RPM's for your shift points?
I quess I must be stuck in "old school" cause I always try to not lug a standard. From reading other post on here it seems not possible to actually lug a motor anymore

Back in the old days there were a lot of engines with long, skinny, poorly supported crankshafts that had critical speeds in the lower operating range where the power pulses would resonate with natural torsional vibrational frequencies of the crankshaft and could cause the crankshaft to break. You won't find a modern engine you can do that to.

Yes... when looking closer the other day while driving... my MPH shift points that I listed were @ 2,000-2,100 RPM.
