Hi why! nice to hear from you! when are we going to install your Carrozeria?

The other way around! the CLA comes with RFT (run flat tire) and they are terrible, noisy, bad cornering and very harsh drive, like if your tires are made of wood!

I swap them for regular tires, much cheaper than RFT and ride is smooth now.

OEM RFT to the left and new normal tires to the right:

I need to identify a part so I can replace it. I want to move my tweets to the pillar by the windshield. When I originally installed these polk audio components, I put the tweeter on the mirror access cover on the door. ...triangular black plastic piece on the upper front part of the door. Anyone know the right term for this piece or part numbers so I can get new ones as the old ones have holes from speakers....Thanks in advance.

Yea that is what I meant. I have no idea why manufacturers chose to use run flat tires, it is so dumb. I'd do the same thing you did.

I just need to make time. I've been so busy lately, but everything will be in soon, because I want it to be.

@ Sick - I always refer to them as sail panels. I have my old set hanging around from my install somewhere...

I asked my wife to check out the installation of the amplifier...

me: honey... check out the amp! I installed last night!

she: where? under the floor? I don't see anything new!

me: thanks honey, you just approve my install!

You can barely see it under the rear tray

I also had the great opportunity to install an Audison Bit10d my self
this was to help my friend so I had the chance to learn the software from A to Z and play for many hours tuning after installing the Bit10d

Now I now what I'm going to use in the CLA!

What'd I say? The Bit products are nice, fairly intuitive, and clean.

Now you understand why I used the Bit One in my Yaris. It's good stuff for sure. If I ever get back into competition (probably not), I'll definitely use a Bit product again. What'd be interesting to have is a more advanced phase adjustment IMHO. You have a 180 degree setting (at least on the Bit One), I'd like to do a more minute option of at least 45 degree intervals if not 15 degree intervals.

Question What about tweaking the new EQ on the move?

Hello Derrick, Long time reader of this (like in MANY hours the past 5 days!)

Just wondering about the tunability while mobile with the BitTenD...
I remember you tweaked your Yaris system a lot due to the long commute. BUT if you really don't enjoy the OEM system, how are you going to do that with the BitTenD...?

No more long commute?

In my case that's the reason I want the Alpine PXA-H800 with the RUX-C800 controller. Ability to tweak without a laptop. Eventually

Bit10 is very good, but you can't make adjustments on the road, unless you carry a Lap Top but even if I could it wouldn't be the same as the P-99

The beauty of the Bit10 is that you don't see it, the P-99 will have to go some where in the dashboard

The P-99 feels much better tuning specially on the L+R EQ, even bumping up the resolution on the screen, the adjustments using a mouse are so tiny that it was hard to aim.

It's very easy to loose your tuning on the Bit10 if you are not carefully saving your data.

There are other things I didn't like on that project, but most of them was because the placement and aiming of the speakers, so Time Alignment was really hard, also I found lot's of reflections from passenger and pilot's windows and a big deep when running the RTA but I new all these issues where due to physical and car specific. So I can't blame on the Bit10.

I'm still looking how I could install the P-99 into the CLA... if I can?

Pause on the tunability issue while driving...

...what about the Bit controller? I was able to do some basic tuning and tune switching with my Bit One on the fly.

Only Sub, and other useless stuff for tuning on the Bit10D... sadly but I guess that is how they keep the price down on a very good Italian hardware/software piece of art!

If I fail installing the P-99 in a decent way, I rather go with a Bit10D.
I feel comfortable with the software and tuning capabilities of the Bit10.

But I notice how important is the aiming and location of the speakers in a Car! so that is something to have in mind to accomplish a good Sound Stage!
