Rear sway bar snow clearance?

After a few searches, I can't find a definitive answer on this: does the rear sway bar cause clearance issues with snow?

I've found several posts where people talk about the potential problem, but none that directly answer with experience. I guess if there was a serious problem with it, then there should be some posts warning against installing one in northern climates. On the other hand, there are plenty of YW members in Canada and northern US with them installed.

So anyway, if you drive in snow with one, what's your experience been like?

Made no impact having it as far as I could tell.

The TRD one tucks way up under the beam, so no here.

The Ultra Racing hangs lower, but no lower than the
front lip and rest of the bottom of the car, so no on this as well.

If you jam the car into a snowbank of course the ends of
either one will get snow on them,

but no, none of the 2 above bars drag in snow. other stuff will drag first.

^ the Ultra Racing sway bar is exactly the same as TRD in terms of shape. It does not hang lower. Maybe you meant the rear underbrace.

Cranky, we're in basically the same part of Michigan. I'm lowered on DF210's with the Ultra Racing rear sway bar, and had NO problems this past winter. The only part that was hitting the snow was the bumper while going through 3-ft snow drifts! I also have no problems on those stupidly large speed bumps.

Well, between the xB transmission, NST pulley, MI SSK and shift cable bushings that I bought this week, my funny money is pretty much spent. Had to get the wife a laptop and DSLR camera for her college classes this month too, which put a sizable dent in it to begin with. It's definitely on the list though!

Crap, gotta get snow tires soon too.

really ? in pics the TRD is shoved way up under. the ultra I have is lower. perhaps i was looking at the wrong TRD photo or for a different car

http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CEMQ8wIwAw

note the extra bend TRD has to go up into the torsion beam, whereas ultra just bends a little bit and doesn't tuck into the torsion beam

^ Yes it does, looks like they changed the shape at some point. Or that is a picture of a different vehicle. The extra bends will make it less effective.
But either way it's not the lowest part of the suspension so it won't be affected by the OP's concern.

Is this a Yaris?

I'm happy (selfishly) if TRD makes it that way now. I means the Ultra Racing product is now better -- lighter and more resistant to twist forces.

sure - more bends means a longer bar.

It may be just the camera angle that makes it look that way.
