Lost spare key !!!!!!

I lost my spare key for my 08 yaris 4dr sedan....i usually kept it in my wallet but for some reason i lost wallet or i dropped it and someone swiped it...should i be worried since my drivers license was in the wallet with my HOME ADDRESS along with the key?

I now losing sleep thinking about some dirt bag driving off in my car.

I bought my car used and it only came with the one master key.

How can I get some spare keys? I know the dealership where it was originally sold, can I go there and ask them to provide me with some spares/valets? How much would that cost?

The dealer can use the vin number to order new keys from Toyota. The Ford dealer did that for the second Yaris I bought used.

The second choice is to buy one of those wheel cover with a bar that loops around the pedal.

Get a club or an antitheft device like this

They don't show prices (on toyodiy.com) but all you'll need is the lock cylinders replaced and the keys.

and IIRC there are only three lock cylinders (LF door, Trunk, and ignition)

probably looking at $350 parts and labor at least.

your best bet is to price out lock cylinders from the dealer (if you're trying to save money on this) and ask to see the items. specific for your car. get the part numbers off the bags then get the cylinders (if cheaper) online. then get a reputable shop or a locksmith to 'code' the tumblers for you in the locks and install them.

then all you'll need is a new key from wal-mart or the likefor about $1.50...

If you have an immobilizer then well good luck with the price.

or see if you can get the cylinders from CTSCOTT unless he needs them he has a totaled yaris.

do you have theft insurance?

just get an autolock x or club

if you have either they wouldnt be able to do anything even if they had the key. i wouldnt lose sleep over this unless you modified the bejesus out of your car.
