Hey, I know its been a long time since I've made any updates about the project. Here's a little insite to what it takes to make a RWD Yaris.
Parts alone for the project will cost upwards of $20,000.
For my actual swap, I'm into it about $10,000 already.
Engine $1-5k (stock)
Trans $500-2500
Rear End $500-1500
Engine Management $250 (megasquirt)-$5000
Custom Drive Shaft $200
Steering Rack $100
Tunnel $60
Fuel system $1000
Cooling system $800
Custom Exhaust Manifold and System $500-800
Custom Intake $100
Raw Materials (cage, firewall, etc) $2000

That's before suspension, brakes, seats, belts, wheels, tires, suspension, etc.

Labor, we're into the project about 400 hours. Total when its ready to race will be between 600-800. If you had to pay a shop 40-80 an hour, you're talking $24,000-$64,000...so unless you're going to do it yourself, its probably not going to be worth it. The wheel base is NOT as short as some people believe. I have a comparison posted on http://www.mospeed.com/ProjectYaris.html

If anyone ever has a question or inquiry you can reach me on AIM:thefoth71.

HMM Yaris on the moon... that'd be interesting, it is kind of shaped like a shuttle pod.
