something wrong with my brakes?
tonight i was driving with the radio off for once.....and i noticed when i brake it makes a weird noise....like there is some on the brake disc...every time it hits the spot it makes like a paper against paper rubbing sound
should i take it to the dealer? This is my first new car so i got a few q's if so, I'm guessing its better to put OEM wheels on huh... problem is dealer has already seen my car with rims and suspension... can i got to another toyota dealership?

I'm trying to imagine what that sounds like
is there a vibration feeling, is this during hard or fast braking or just normal stopping?

hmmm, well I wouldn't be too concerned but I'm not sure exactly what is going on, they may try to tell you it is your tires or something
this is up front I would assume

Very easy to tell if the rims rub the caliper....take the wheel off and anywhere there is contact will show on the wheel and the caliper. If there is, take a grinder or file to the spot on the caliper (not the wheel) and barely remove some material...doesn't take much. Sort of doubt that this is the problem with newer aftermarket wheels though.

I kinda doubt suspension and rims would cause any braking issues. You shouldn't let it go without a fight, if the dealer tries to blame it on the suspension and brakes. Unless they say that the rim was rubbing on the caliper, or the suspension exploded, taking the inner half of the caliper, or something like that. Not that that's what happened.

Hi!
|
pull off your wheels, inspect the rotors and pads for unusual wear or foreign objects. if you can see what's causing the sound, that's a good thing because it can be easily fixed! good luck.

I had a piece of corn stalk caught in mine once. Its scared the piss out of me. Ya like the others said just pull the wheel off and inspect. It might be nothing at all.
