Fog Lights - only right hand side - Toyota Yaris Forums

Can anyone tell me if the rear fog light on the T3 Spirit should only go on on the right hand side ? Mine has no rear fog light on the left - is this the standard ? Doesnt make much sense to me ?!?

Yes... in all countries that specify a rear fog light there should only be ONE and it is always offset to either the right or left side.
The reason behind this is to identify it as a fog light and not a brake light as it has similar brightness to an illuminated (braking) brake light. The rear fog light should always be turned off unless conditions (fog, rain, snow, etc.) are limiting the visibility, that is what this light is for, to allow other drivers to see you ahead in poor driving conditions.

Woudn't they just think your commin head on w/o a head light out?

Nope... rear foglights are red, and as they get closer, they'll be able to see the rest of your taillights.
