should i get a yaris & which is best...

hey there

firstly, great forum, especially the DIY & Performance Modifications sections...

i looking at getting a yaris a second car, i have been a fan of them for some time, but only at an arms length. now i have the opportunity to get myself little runabout, (and secretly some minor tuning).
i was trying to decide between the swift or the yaris, my wife likes the look of the yaris more, so at the moment it seemd to be looking like its going to be yaris.

so my question is...
1.is there a model/year yaris that i should either stay away from or aim for?
2.also 2 door verse 4 door?
3. is there any thing that i should be cautions of when buy a pre owned yaris?
4. any other info that i need would be much appreciated
