Whirring Noise when accelerating

Hello

I have 2008 Yaris 1.0
Its done 10k miles.
I've noticed today that when i accelerate, i can hear a whirring noise coming from the front of the car.
If i put the clutch down, the noise stops, until i take my foot off the clutch again.
If i have the car in neutral and rev the engine i can hear the sounds
I've had a mechanic have a look and he can't see anything wrong.

So any ideas?.

Thanks

EDIT: It sounds more like a whistle blowing,

Have the water pump checked for leaks. It kind of makes a hissing noise and is known to be an issue with the 1.0 engine.

It could possibly be the throw out bearing making noise when it's spinning freely, but when you push down on the clutch pedal, that moves a forked lever which causes the throwout bearing to press against the clutch arms and it stops making noise.

Hi
It sounds more like a whistle blowing, and it seems to be coming from the passenger side of the bonnet.

I havn't check the water pump- i dont know what to look for

I went to another mechanic and he said its not the throw out bearing, or clutch related and its just normal Yaris noise.

I rang Toyota and they said they can look at it if i pay a "investigation fee" of £90/$142 so they can identify it.

Took it to different mechanics, he said the Water pump has been leaking in the past, but isn't now.

It sounds like this:

New Mechanic says its the Alternator whistling.
Its fine, but its just making a louder noise then normal.

£245 to get it replaced.

Am i right in assuming most Yaris Alternators shouldn't go after 10k miles?

Did you pop the hood and physically look in the engine bay? You could have a hidden Supper Charger!! That what it sounds like to me... :P
