Exhaust Disconnected from Corrosion
Hi,
I've got an old 1 litre 2002 Toyota Yaris and it looks as if the exhaust has completely disconnected from the muffler. You can see a quick video here: https://youtu.be/28kaJ2RDrx8 The car seems to run ok but is incredibly loud. Is there any way i can fix this myself? or will it need a new exhaust? Chances are even if you had a welder that its so corroded you wouldn't have much to weld too and there are other places which are pretty bad. You need a new exhaust mate.

Is that the factory exhaust? They are made from better material then the run of the mill replacement exhaust. Find a muffler shop, they can cut that out and weld in a union. We do that all the time at work.
If you need to do it on the cheap, get a hack saw, cut off the flange and find a pipe that slips over the exhaust, then clamp it. |
