ROLL CALL

Just want to know how many Yaris owners there are in the Seattle/ Tacoma/ Portland area. How often do yall meet up? Also who will let me drive there Yaris LB or at least ride in it? preferably one with some handling mods. I have a dodge SRT-4 and I am thinking of coming over to the dark side. Great gas milage and something that can handle well is starting to look good.

Skulls,

Speaking as a former SRT-4 owner...you WILL miss the ability to put S2000s and 350Zs in thier place.

However, you will get a MUCH better car in regards of quality and factory support. I had my SRT-4 in for non-scheduled service no less than 12 times in the 3 years I owned it. At 3000K miles the dealership replaced the entire turbo system (when all they needed to do was to replace the wastegate).

I enjoy the "stubby Camry" look of my Yaris S sedan. I also enjoy the LOW insurance cost and 43 mpg (sincethe big 3 upgrade).

You're not coming over to any dark side...the dark side would be switching to a Cobalt SS or an EVO or STi.

You'd be coming over to the SMART side.

Eugene, Oregon (2hrs south of portland)
have only met up with 1 person so far (rotorhead), supposed to meet up with sqcomp whenever both our schedules sync.

There's some people on this board from the peninsula part of WA.

As far as coming to the dark side... i'd love to have a fast car... but really, i'd rather have a cheap one, and the Yaris is about as cheap as they come in terms of maintenance and initial cost. Also... its fun to try and see how high of MPG I can get. This summer I should break 45mpg for a full tank. I've done a 200mile trip in the 48mpg range before.

Portland, OR here.

Don't forget: There is the Mt. St. Helens cruise on June 7! I'd love to see some of you guys there!

We haven't done just a straight-up Yaris meet here in the PNW, however, I'd totally be down for it.

Kirkland, Wa for me (I hardly post on here)

I have tanabe springs on my yaris, but its far from good handling... its FWD, and has absolutely NO power at all. I have a heavily modded WRX that is my autocross car, but my yaris is purely for commuting. I may get sway bars for it at some point just because I don't like the roll, but you'll never get a truly good handling car with FWD.

Portland, but will be moving back to Wenatchee, WA here soon. Have an '07 with sprint springs, TRD rear sway bar, GT-Spec rear link brace, megan mid brace, tanabe front strut bar and it handles great, but is an auto. Also have an '09 manual but it's stock for now.

So you're movin' back? When's the move? PM me your address and I'll drop a couple of SubcompactCulture.com decals in the mail.

... Same goes for the rest of you if you'd like one.
