FIRST TIME CAR BUYER! WANT YARIS! HAVE QUESTIONS!!

I've been researching about cars ALOT, and always end with a yaris. i have so many question so i hope you can help me.

i am 19, in college, and very independent.. i know im too young to want to buy a car on my own but my parents never was there for me (financially wise) and i had always work for everything i own. im an only child and the rest of my family is in another country... so there you go.. VERY INEXPERIENCE WITH NOONE TO HELP.

BUT MY CREDIT SCORE IS 709(= goood enough..

i want a 2 or 4 door white 2009 yaris hatch back and i'm thinking about getting it from this one dealership and this is the info from it..

2009 Toyota Yaris
Internet Price
$12,411
Series 5dr HB Auto
Transmission Automatic
Mileage 34216

i tried to "bargain" by researching other cars similar with lower price, and lower miles and telling him but the guy said the internet price is the lowest he can go and i may get 2.9 interest rate for 60 months and i have 100000 mile warranty. IS THAT GOOOD?

ALSO i am mostly likely going to the dealership on my own.. what do i need to know? cause I KNOW THESE PEOPLE will most likely add extra charges (like extra stuff) i don't need and i don't want that. And the contracts?? ANYTHING that will help me.

i'm inexperience and would like to learn from car owners..

I don't know what the market in Texas is like, but people have been picking up new 2010s for between 12.5 and 15k.

This car, essentially 2 model years old and 34+ k miles on the clock seems overpriced. Have you looked into 2010s with rebates/incentives?

0% APR is only for brand-new Yaris' here.

To the OP: The finance manager will try and sell you everything under the sun when they present you with the financing paperwork to sign. You don't have to accept any of it. The dealer makes a lot of profit on those extras.

Also some dealers will add documentation fees etc. My dealer did not, but it's happened in the past to me with other cars. I have read that is a bargaining tool, that you can tell the dealer you refuse to pay any documentation fees, and if they want your business bad enough, they will drop them.

jBABEE91, i live just north of houston and i noticed when shopping for my used yaris that the dallas area was about $1,000 cheaper than the houston area. it might be worth it to drive up to the dallas area like i did if you can find a deal.

Yeah I know it was for new ones, just that if hes going to pay that may aswell get a new one on 0 percent. I also had no dealership fees AT ALL, he even took out the transportation fee of 1.3k and reimbursed me 1500 dollars afterwards with the rebates.
