when I first bought my 2007 yaris I asked the toyota people when do I replace the gas filter. And the guy said you don't have to. Don't know how it works but supposedly the yaris doesn't have a fuel filter.

all vehicles have fuel filters, many newer cars (like ours) have fuel filters that are not servicable in the tank

Would it be possible to add an additional fuel filter,I bought this thing about 3 months ago,but when I felt our fuel filter,it feels like there is a hard plastic pipe under the rubber, whats up.

How did you feel the filter? You do know that it is inside the fuel tank, right?
Maybe you're talking about the fuel pressure regulator- right there by the fuel rail, looks like a little metal canister?

I can't find anything about the fuel filter or replacement in the manual. From what the toyota people told me is you never have to do anything with it. Though that does sound kind of hard to figure. Seems you'd have to replace a filter for the fuel someday. Anyone know where the information for the yaris fuel filter is.

Fuel Filter

The filter is buried in the pump assembly down in the fuel tank. I would think that replacement is a non issue until things started to go wrong.

Fuel Pressure

I would personally not add an inline filter as the fuel pressure is recommended to be maintained at 21 PSI or more to insure correct function with the injectors. You might be able to keep everything up and running properly, but the system was not designed for an additional filter.
