YAlexRIS : Yaris SE 2014 project

Hi to everyone!

I'm Alex (Yeah Yaris+Alex gives YAlexRis, lol ), from Montreal, Quebec. I get in october a brand new blizzard pearl toyota yaris SE 2014. It's not my first toyota. I had a blue 2005 echo hatchback 4 years (2009-13) and I loved that car. This will be the thread of my project.

So, here it is:

My project for the spring/summer 2014:

Coilover: Probably the TEIN Street basis from microimage
Wheels: 17''x7 +42 Tenzo R Concept 9 flat black
Exhaust: Varex (I had one on my Subaru STi, expensive but that's the solution!)
Light: HID for low/high beam and fog light (4300 or 6000max)
Roof rack
Window tint + weathertech window deflector
Plastidip (flat black) the chrome part on the front bumper and the trunk

For this winter I get a front pair of weathertech digital fit floor liner and 4 brand new Nokian Hakkapeelita 7 studed.

I love it! Very nice the 3rd gen! The only negative point I found is the too small glove-box and the speed of the wiper that have not enough choice (only 3). Oh and an other point, not enough aesthetic parts for modifications.

According to the car, I'm around 6.7L/100Km. Not bad but my echo was way better (not the same car I know).

Feel free to comment!

Thank you. I'm looking for mudflap too and found the rallytech yesterday. Maybe in orange with orange lugs nut and front orange tow strap...

I need to found how to photoshop that.

the Yaris does get a little worse mileage than the Echo due to the different final gear ratio, to compensate acceleration on a heavier car.

beautiful car.. i only wish it had a bigger trunk and a rear facing baby seat is hell of a job fitting it in.

I know that the car was heavier than the echo but thanks for the comment about the gear ratio.

My first photoshop in my life... not too bad. It gives a good idea with the wheel I want, a drop and a window tint...

Wish I was close enough to you to buy the stock rims when you upgrade. Those are already nice IMO. I like that you are making it your own.

The Yaris does looks nice from the side. You couldn't really tell a '12/'13'/'14 apart. My question does the 2014 come with fog lights, that's all I may want. I'm not buying any winter tires this year, I hope I can make it though !

So Nice!

It's a beautiful Yaris, you should be proud!

My only regret (if really any...) is that I should have pushed to get a 'White' Yaris...the last vehicle (2003 Trailblazer) was white, I got an Absolutely Red 2013 3dr Coupe.
Thinking about it now, most of the cars I've had for an extended period of time have been red or white.
If there was a yellow available which there isn't, of course, I would have snatched that baby up in a heartbeat...gotta love a flashy color car

actually, the current yaris is no less efficient than the echo was. it is a misconception because of the methodology change in 2008 for testing cars.

under that system, here are the ratings:

2005 Echo-automatic 28 city/36 highway/31 combined
manual 30 city/38 highway/33 combined

2014 Yaris-automatic 30 city/36 highway/32 combined
manual 30 city/37 highway/33 combined

id call it a wash, and for anyone who has spent much time in an echo, the yaris is a drastically better experience.

Well, real world difference in fuel consumption is that the echo gets better mileages than the Yaris. At least, I did notice the difference when i bought my Yaris in 2006.
But if you talk about driving experience, for sure the Yaris is better in every way.

The TEIN Street Basis will get you even lower than that in the rear, but they won't get you that low in the front. At it's lowest level, you'll still have 20mm between the top of the OEM tire and the fender.

If you want to achieve the look you have in mind, you're going to need bags.

Nice SE! I have a '13 LE version. My future plans is to up grade to the SE version. I was at the Miami Auto Show this year 2013. Toyota didn't get the SE version there. I was bummed. :( But the info about the SE was good. Good body lines AND disc brakes in the rear!! It's about time somebody in Toyota finally woke up!!
