Just bought a 2010 gas sipper...

Hey guys!

I just sold my 2000 Celica for something a little more economical (even though I use to get 35-38 MPG in my 6 speed Celica)...

These are the dealer pics, so I will eventually post some better higher quality pictures when I get the interior and exterior detailed to my liking... I don't plan on doing ANYTHING to it... I will although change the sound outputs... The OEM head-unit will be staying, I have a GROM audio unit I can use with that. The speakers will be replaced with Infinity and Rockford Fosgate, all wired to a 4-channel Rockford amplifier...

I will be trying my hardest to break 50 MPG and HOPEFULLY get to 55... I've always driven a standard transmission, so I know what I'm doing...

I ended up getting a Yaris "L" model... It's the base of the base. Crank windows and manual locks, just how I like it...

I got 40 MPG on the first 3/4 of a tank, with the A/C on the whole time and driving on the highway like a dick.

It has 19,500 miles on it, it's a 2010... It's nice because it still has the Toyota 7 year/100k engine and trans warranty.

The car is uglier than sin, but I love how economical it is, especially since gasoline prices will always go up.

Hand crank windows?....manual locks?

Why... the next thing you'll be saying you dont have power mirrors or remote entry!

I guess you're going to get one of those econo gauges huh?

Good luck with that 55 mpg thing.

But I you get 45 mpg please tell me how you do it!

I have hand crank windows and keyed entry (although the locking mechanisms are electric) in my 2012. I believe that this will be the last year of non electric windows.

Congrats... The 2010 would be my preferred year for a used one because of the tach.

And I like the looks of it quite a bit. In most ways I like the look of this one more than the 2012 version.

BTW, I don't mind cranking my own windows one bit, but I do wish it weren't so hard to find keyless entry on the used ones!

Just because I had to get home to go to work, otherwise I drive the speed limit.

Sweet! There isn't too much you can do... Use synthetic oil, tire pressure... If you want to help a bit more, get a cold air intake, and an aftermarket exhaust to let the 2ZZ breath a bit better.

Oh yes! And no, I probably won't get any kind of gauges. Getting 45 MPG will be very easy, especially when I can drive with the windows up and no A/C.
