Hi foot,

I'm glad you found this place helpful. Forums are the collective non local "hive mind" wave of the future where information is freely shared with everyone regardless of location. And each person here is a firing neuron in the group brain.

Why did it take you longer than expected? It took me about 1.5 hours and I was taking pictures of each step. Just curious.

It took me a little longer just because I kept going back to the Ipad to make sure I was doing it right. Making sure I had the right washer, nut and screw for each piece. Also, the first time I tried to do something like that with the car.
Slow and steady wins the race says the turtle.

My Yaris came with one. It only took me 30 minutes to replace it with the factory air box.

Looks good. Doesn't hurt to go slow.

Better doing something right once than having to do it over

did it change the idle? I just had one installed, along with a lightweight flywheel and a new clutch, and all of a sudden my Yaris idles rock steady at 700rpm. I was quite shocked, and I wonder if the stock box is the cause of the horrid idle hunting.

most likely, you had a small vacuum leak with the stock airbox.

Foot I put the same intake on a few weeks ago. I love it, compliments my trd exhaust very well. Sounds badass when you really get on it.

The idle did not change. I already had at about 700.. but sometimes it will drop to 500.. and kick back up to 700. I had the dealer look at it but it did not do it with them. After the KN it still does it occasionally.
Someone pm me and I am not sure I replied correctly or I just do not know what to do. Anyway I paid 230... dollars for the KN on amazon. I see you can get one now for about 248. For the exhaust it is still stock but after 3k rpm you can still hear the intake good inside the car.

Thanks for the inspiration, FOOT!! Just installed mine last night. Only gone a couple of miles today, but I noticed a difference in response in the mid rpms (haven't been able to open her up....yet). As for sound, I already had the Tanabe exhaust.......I didn't notice any difference. Sounds great as-is though!

Funny Charlie, I loved your exhaust and got me one. Also, I only noticed slight improvement with the intake and I would assume you with your exhaust only. But when I got the muffler and you the intake I noticed even more power. On a side note I put on a light weight pulley today. The response from peddle to rpm does seem to help, maybe I will not let it stall on slow take offs any more. Prolly did it a few times a year.
